From Doug

Hi - I just wanted to let you know that I'm playing this Sat night with Rick Larrimore's Tribute to Rod Stewart. We'll be at George's in Haverhill, MA in Mal's Lounge.

This is a great club, and the restaurant downstairs is very good as well, if you want to come early and grab a bite to eat before you head upstairs to the lounge.

If you like Rod Stewart music and you haven't seen Rick's show, you owe it to yourself to check it out. He really puts on a great show and covers Rod's entire career from the early Jeff Beck Group and Faces right up to the American Songbook tunes. Rick has brought his Rod Stewart show to Vegas, New York, Brazil, and even Oklahoma - so it's a treat to see him in a small local setting.

So tell all your friends and family and head on over. Hope to see you there!

Doors open at 8:00, show starts at 9:00

Dr. Noah Tremblay

Everything went as planned and Noah has accomplished his goal of a PhD in Chemistry. Following his marriage to Samantha on October 25th, he will be heading for Baltimore, MD to do his Post-Doc at Johns Hopkins University. It was a great time, and Grammy even got to go. I will have more photos on my Facebook page.

DV8 PLAYING A BENEFIT

Just a quick note to let you know that the "original" DV8 Band (Doug, Deb, Scot & Bruce) will be playing a set this Sat (or Sunday rain date) at Shirley Common. It's a benefit to raise money to keep the Old Town Hall open and running, as it's used by many of the town's non profit groups, such as Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. We'll be going on later in the afternoon - probably around 6:00 or 6:30 - but come on out and check out the other bands and spend a nice afternoon for a great cause.

If you need to google or mapquest directions, the official address is:

2 Parker Rd, Shirley, MA 01464

Hope to see you there!

Sad News

Some of you already know that we have lost our cousin Tommy. He passed away on Friday surrounded by his family. Tag has e-mailed me with the news that there will not be any service, that was Tom's wishes. He is going to be cremated and his family will be scattering his ashes in Gloucester, a place that he loved to be. It is hard to see someone leave us at such a young age, he was only 55. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers. And remember all the good times you had with cousin Tommy. Nothing else really matters except the good memories.
Be well.
Marilyn

Spring Fling Time!

Hope all is well with everyone! After enduring a particularly rough winter, how about coming to our garage dance party to celebrate not only the return of spring, but also celebrate turning the half century mark. Many of us are about to turn, or have turned the big 50, and we may as well celebrate together. Of course you don’t have to be anywhere near that age to join us, so mark your calendars for Saturday, April 4th, and plan on dancing the night away to tunes coming from Scott’s PA. We’ve been spreading the word and hope you do too….it would be great to add a large portion of cousins & 2nd cousins to the mix! My kids are coming, so it will be an all ages and open house, so bring friends as well……it’s time to partaaay!!! Garage will be open from 6:30 till the cows come home. Hope to see everyone soon.

Love to all,
Donna

Message from Doug

Hi Everyone - Time Flies! Here's a recent photo of Gabriel at 2 months old now. Everyone is doing great, and we all fight over who gets to hold him when he comes to visit (but when no one is around, he whispers to me that he loves Grampy best).

Hope to see you all soon!

- Doug

Sleeper News

As you all know Mandi has had ongoing shoulder problems and since last July she has lost use of her left hand. After many doctor visits to Boston and no answers at all, just accusing Mandi of wanting pain meds and it being in her head! The shoulder doctor told her to go live her life, and doesn’t want to see her again. Her shoulder stills seems to pop in and out and she is in constant pain. So we went to U-mass in Worcester and she saw a neurologist who specializes in movement disorders. He ordered several different tests that Mass General doctors did not do. He found that she has a neurological disorder called Dystonia, we don’t know what form yet but it is when your muscles are in constant spasm. If anyone knows anything about this we would love to know more. She is now on a drug for Parkinson's which seems to have helped a little. She is going to have a Botox injection on her forearm to help open her hand. Mandi is not thrilled with the diagnosis but happy to know that someone is willing to help her and believes that she has something wrong. On the bright side Mandi and Ryan are moving to Fort Myers in May, Ryan starts Physicians Assistant school in June so they will be there for two years. Maybe the warm weather will help her joints heal. Jenn is due to have her baby in May, I hope we can all get together in the summer to meet all the new babies!!

Up coming events: D-tor band is playing at the Ashby Legion on March 14th 8-12 and on April 11th they are playing in Westford sharing the night with the cabin fever band. They will be playing at 7:30 at the Franco American Club in Forge Village .

CONNELL NEWS:

Ryan bought an investment home in Lowell. We are helping him to fix it up and the first apartment will be ready for tenants in 3 weeks. The second apartment is painted Pepto Bismol pink-that is going to take alot more than one coat of paint before he can rent out that one! He also is working a second job at Angela's, a new high end pizza place in Tyngsborough. He loves it!

Lindsey is completely black and blue from her practice sessions. That means she is trying hard! We start our weekend jaunts to see her play starting on Valentine's Day.She loves SU and playing for the team.

Happy New Year to all!
mucho amore~
