Hi Everyone,
The update on Mandi's surgery is that she's doing pretty well, but still in alot of pain. She has to wear an external rotation brace for another 5 weeks, so obviously her activities are limited including driving. She has been going to work as much as possible. She works with Laurie so that works out good. She was able to take 5 weeks off from school without getting behind at all.
Well I know that you all know that my father left the family 30 years ago and the last time I saw him was about 19 years ago, but I had this feeling or urge(whatever you want to call it)to get in touch with him somehow. I called my Aunt Barbara(his sister)and got his phone number. We talked for a while and he came to my house the Sunday before Easter. It went very well and I'm hoping to continue a relationship with him. It's not easy to forgive him for what he did, but he is my father and we're not getting any younger.

Rick-
You will always be my Hero, because of things like this and so many other things. I, for one, agree that we are not getting any younger and now is the time. I did it with my Dad and I am not at all sorry that I finally had a 'Dad' even if it was the last 3 years of his life. it meant a lot to me and him. Forgiveness is something that we are all capable of, it just a matter of time, and when the time runs out, you will never know what could have been.
I am so.o.o. very proud of the man that you have become. And I am happy, of course, that you are MY cousin.
Kudos!
Love you,
Marilyn

And I as well am proud to be your cousin, cousin! (that's a weird word if you say it too many times!)
I think some people have a difficult time getting in touch with their inner feelings, and I'm so glad you acted upon yours! You can't go wrong following your heart! I'm so happy to be part of such a wonderful family. Mom always said there's not a bad one in the bunch!!!
Love to all,
Donna

Dad, you did the right thing. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have a dad growing up. I love you so much and you have been a great role model. I love that we can watch the sox together, laugh and joke, and spend time together. I hope you can develop a close relationship with your dad.
